Even though we all are aware that each and every singer is an individual, with individual styles, tone qualities, deliveries, timing, etc., I Do see his point: the effortless, languid, velvety delivery, the individual "KC-Like" timing and inflection, to me, is all reminiscent of one of my many musical idols, Karen Carpenter. Even that insidious, soul-stirring contralto voice, so evenly modulated, so sublime, so sexy, AUTOMATICALLY changes my mood whenever I hear it. I discovered Anne Murray as a teen when she was a guest on a C&W variety show (can't remember the name of that show for nothin'!). My parents favored gospel and C&W music mostly. I heard Anne singing "Snowbird" and was instantly floored! The instrumentation, the harmonies and most of all, Her Voice!!! I was hooked, just like that. Now, 54 years later, hearing this song is like going back home again, returning to me those long-forgotten snuggly, secure feelings from long ago. Now, the fun begins as I slowly go through her whole discography, rediscovering her other long ago gems and invariably some I'm not so familiar with...like a treasure hunt for the senses. I'll probably come up for air in maybe 2 or 3 hrs.😮😢😅😂😂😂❤❤!

This song makes me think of my wife Barb ! When we met she just moved into the same rooming house I was living at , she’d been living in her car . It was a week after my daughter was killed by her ex boyfriend and I had know one to help me deal with it until Barb came into my life . We ended up building a life together and getting a home . Sadly she died 04/23/2023 of brain cancer at home on hospice in my arms .
